A button, a shell, a torn page from an old book — each of these things by itself, though beautiful, is only a fragment of something that was once much larger, cohesive, complete. Touch such an object and it will tell you something about what it once was, the life it helped form, and what it still could be. I am inspired by fragments, compelled to tell new stories from bits and pieces of the past.
